I’d hang it on my garage ceiling until I retire, then put it together on some sort of modern chassis.I did some reading on blogs about these fiberglass bodies. As you can imagine, parts are ridiculously hard to find and although there is some crossover between the 190SL and the 300SL, pieces are very expensive. Guess it’s cheaper than the $750K alternative. Could make for an attention grabbing track car with plexiglass windows, sparse interior and minimal trim.
On eBay for $1,000 to start with a reserve 15 minutes north of Boston but did not cross reserve and stalled at $2,550.

There are some areas that need fiber glass repair, cowl, left windshield post, top rear deck trim, and side trim black tape shows theareas that need repair. There are also some areas on the gel coat that need refinishing. Appears one door has had some cutting done on the inside for a lock, or handle see photo. The mold for this body appears to have been taken from an orginal 300SL as it has all the proper lines, windshield post, rear tail light openings, the inner structure of hood , doors and trunk lid etc. It has also been inspected by a mercedes restorer who also agrees with this opinion. There is no Title because this is a part and not a vehicle. Wheel base is , what we think is orginal 94.5 inches. “

at the 94 inch wheelbase it looks as though the body would fit a c4 corvette chassis

I know the only person who made these bodies, Mr.Quint. He looked at this add and confirmed that these are indeed his reproductions. Only problem is that he never sold any bodies without a car being attached to it. Mr Quint thinks that someone working for him at that time made a set of unauthorized reproductions. Can not say they were “stolen”, but not supposed to be for sale without Hermann Quints consent, because they do belong to him.
