“Offered for sale is a truly remarkable 1971 Citroen DS21. The vehicle has had 3 loving owners, and comes with a thick folder documenting it’s service and repair history since day one!

The car was originally purchased by a physician in Mount St. Helens, OR, who sold it to a lady in Portland OR about 10 years later. It was during her ownership in 1990 that the car has received it’s only repaint. It was a color refresh for a wedding, and only the outer skins were repainted in factory color. The quality of work was excellent, as evidenced by the paint condition today, 22 years later. Following a professional paint polish, the deep lustrous shine free of imperfections is good enough for a show car! There are only few very minor, and I mean very minor blemishes, such as small rock chips around headlight area. All the door jams, etc still have excellent original paint finish.

The last owner, a physician in Portland, OR had purchased the car in the mid-nineties. He used the car daily for a few years, until finally retiring it to a Sunday driver status.
The car has been garaged throughout its life and is rust free. The only rust to be found is surface rust on the exhaust tailpipe. There was a little bit of surface rust in the trunk floor area only, which is common for these cars. It has been treated 20 years ago, and hasn’t come back.

All the chrome and stainless steel trim has been lightly polished and is simply beautiful, excellent to very good condition. The only exception being 3 out of 4 interior door handles, which show some pitting and flaking. The rest of the bright trim is show ready.

Mechanically this car is in excellent condition. The engine starts with a flick of a key every time, and purrs quite happily. It’s keeps steady cool temperature regardless of speed. Transmission is a manual shift, 4 on the tree, and performs flawlessly. Clutch was replaced at 125k miles, and is still perfect. Hydraulic brakes and power steering operate smoothly and powerfully. This vehicle does not leak any fluids. Tires are brand new. Among other major work performed was new brake rotors, pads, steering rack rebuilt, all the spheres changed for recharged ones. The car’s hydraulic height adjustment system operates as designed, and the vehicle will remain suspended for hours after the engine has been shut off, indicating a healthy hydraulic system.

Inside the vehicle remains stunningly original and complete. Normal wear and tear on the seats for the vintage, carpets and door panels are in very good condition. All the rubber seals and trim are soft and supple, and look and perform like new. One exception to that being 2 out of 4 exterior door glass scraper seals, that are still serviceable but do show some wear. New replacement is included with the car. All the glass has been lightly polished and is beautiful, free of imperfections. Electrical system is all original and unmodified, it performs well. Fully functional original AM radio is a nice touch, as is the original Citroen cigar lighter! The car comes with all owner manuals and 3 sets of Citroen keys. Inside the trunk there is a full factory tool kit in original pouch in great condition, factory jack with related accessories also in superb original condition, and numerous NOS and used spares that come with the car.”
