1964 bmw ”porche” rare barn find old school project

UPDATE: This bike sold for $4,300.01 on December 23, 2010. As suspected the engine was a VW Type 1. The seller added the following information before the sale.

“i checked the engine number out type 1 dec 1953– july 1960 1200 cc engine and it will interchange with the porche vw type 1 engine thank’s”
