“Here is a nice1948 Chief basket case. Excellent rolling chassic with a very complete engine. This is a none matching bike but both engine and frame are 1948 as are all the parts.The chassic is acomplete factory set up. The motor has 20 over cyclinders but the motor will need complete overhaul. All sheet metel orginial indian no repro parts on the complete bike. Very nice speedo and wotking switch. 344 carb . Saddle bagsworn out.”
I’ve always known from watching Antiques Roadshow that Indian baskets are worth some money, but who knew? This one is up to $7,600 and the reserve hasn’t been kicked off yet. Restored examples are fetching thirty to forty grand so lots of upside here.
