Herb runs his powder coating business under HEB Enterprises in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. And like most shops that do quality work, you often find them in the middle of nowhere behind a veil of crusty buildings and, er, stuff piled in ways to allow for maximum storage with minimum pathways. Herb’s is no exception. So imagine the jump back, wanna kiss myself hello that smacked me in the face when I turned down the driveway today. Any brighter and small children would start coming through the trees to swing on it. It’s a beacon, a signal flair, a calling to other worlds. It’s art just sitting there. My wheels that are getting powder coated satin white will pale in comparison.
