Looks like a lot of car for the money. I like the hard top, wheels and color but a bummer that it has some rust in the rockers.

Find it for sale on Ann Arbor’s Craigslist.

“I have a fully race prepared 1990 Mazda Miata. Car is set up for road racing, but still has a clean, green title and plate, so can still be driven on the street. Current interior setup is for a bigger guy (I’m 6’2″ and 280lb), drivers seat is an aluminum ultrashield 17” rally sport seat mounted straight to the floor. If there is something that you can find in a performance catalog, it probably has it. I’ll break it down by area:

Engine/driveline:
Original 1.6L engine, approximately 176K miles on it, with about 25K on the turbo setup
Turbo’d and has a switchable calibration, so it makes either 180 or 250 HP to the rear wheels, calibration can be changed on the go with the flick of a switch
Coolant reroute kit (absolutely necessary for turbo miata’s)
Custom 2.5″ down pipe with no cats straight to axle back – sounds healthy, not overly loud
Recent oil change with Rotella T6 0W-40
Converted to G05 coolant
Big intercooler for turbo
Custom ECU
Newer 5 speed manual transmission out of 94 miata
Torsen LSD and rear subframe out of 94 miata (Wayyyy better than viscous diff that came in car)
All shifter bushings and fluid replaced this winter
Trans fluid (Ford Motorcraft full synthetic transmission fluid, very good for miatas) and differential fluid (Redline) replaced last year
A/C compressor removed, still has heat

Suspension:
Single adjustable koni yellow coilovers with 400 lb springs in the front and 750 lb in the rear
LARGE racing beat front swaybar with adjustable endlinks
Rear swaybar removed to help put power to the ground
Wilwood big brake kit on the front (4 piston calipers) with Wilwood race pads
99 Miata sport brakes on the rear (largest rotor ever put on stock miata’s)
949 Racing 6UL wheels with 205/50/R15 Bridgestone Potenza RE11’s with plenty of tread left
Full Mazdaspeed competition miata bushing set (stiffer rubber than stock, but still cast in same moldings, no squeaking like urethane bushings do)

Interior/Exterior:
Guages for boost pressure, oil pressure, water temperature, oil temperature
Custom 17″ ultrashield racing seat from Track Dog racing with I/O port aluminum seatback brace
Brand new sparco 6 pt HANS compatible racing harnesses
Hard dog Hardcore dual diagonal roll hoop
Factory hardtop
Center console removed for bigger guy (I have the stock one that can be put back in)
Smoked indicator lights and side markers
Brand new front “R” style lip
Brand new carbon fiber rear ducktail spoiler
No radio

Cons: Rockers are rusty (very common on Miata’s), surface rust on the bottom side of the car, but nothing structural. Bottom of car looks very good.

Price is pretty firm, this is one of the cheapest turbo miatas you will find. Yes it has rust, but I have priced it appropriately. Only trades I am interested in are CLEAN, NON RUSTY foxbody mustangs. I’d be willing to add a bit of money on top if the right mustang is offered. These early miatas had no traction control and no abs, so I will be driving on test drives, you may drive once I have the money in my hands.”
