Thanks to reader Hank for this forward.  Everything done, ALL maintenance, original stereo included, sport seats, Fuchs, nice color combo, 53,xxx miles and it’s local to Michigan.

On eBay for $9,000 starting bid or Buy It Now for $10,500.  These are such a bargain.

“1986 Porsche 944 Turbo (951)

53,XXX Miles

I am the second owner of this great example of the breed.  I purchased the car approximately two years ago to fulfill a dream of owning/driving an example of a car my father had in his stable while I was too young to touch it….and mine even has lower miles!!!  This German classic is lightweight, extremely well-balanced, and, in true Autobahn fashion, pulls like a freight train with the hammer down.  The car begs to be pushed but has never been abused.  It has been extremely well-maintained and comes complete with a folder of receipts and service records from new to illustrate and chronicle this fact.

Just to highlight, this is a listing of some of the “big ticket” maintenance items I have performed within the last two years and 2,000 miles of ownership to help ensure years and years of worry free motoring.

Timing belt and water pump (OEM/Gates)
Accessory belts and pulleys (OEM/Gates)
Clutch, clutch master and slave cylinder replaced (OEM/Sachs)
Brake, clutch fluid and coolant flush
Shocks/struts replaced in all four corners (OEM)
Wheel bearings replaced in all four corners (OEM)
Transaxle fluid exchange (Redline)
New Dunlop Direzza Star Spec tires (90% tread remaining)
Spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor (OEM/Bosch)
Exhaust header replaced with later model “accordion” style expansion joint header to minimize potential for cracking and exhaust leaks
Ansa Sport exhaust
Fuel filter (OEM)
Air filter (K&N panel)
All vacuum hoses replaced and “venturi delete” kit installed

No expense has been sparred on keeping this low mileage beauty in great running condition.  Virtually all of the above service was done on a “just because” basis and not because the vehicle was in need.  I don’t like selling a vehicle, regardless of pedigree, without being able to say it needs nothing.

In addition to the above maintenance, performance has also been improved with the installation of an Autothority performance chipset (original ECU chipset included).  The factory 4-speaker system has been upgraded with RetroSound ultra-thin speakers to maintain original location and appearance.  No tacky amplifiers or subs here.  The stereo head unit has also been replaced to now feature Bluetooth and USB connectivity (original Blaupunkt receiver included).

The car is in great condition for its age.  It has always been garaged and, despite living in Michigan, has never seen snow or salt.  With that caveat there are some blemishes, mainly in the form of some stone chips to the vulnerable front nose (see pictures).  Outside of that, the paint is original and in great condition, recently clayed, polished, and waxed with a deep wet shine that only a clean black car can provide.  The factory clear stone guards were removed so that I could thoroughly polish the vehicle.  I have new replacements I will include should you want to reinstall them.  Also included is a new hood pad/insulation as the original is starting to age.  The beige (Porsche calls it Lt. Grey) interior is in great shape with no cracks in the dash or leather sports seats and no unsightly stains to the carpet.  The interior, like the exterior, has also been freshly detailed including treating all plastics, cleaning and conditioning all leather, and vacuuming and shampooing all carpeting.  Further improving the great looks of this vehicle are the refinished factory Fuchs wheels with colored center caps.”
