I get my nose in a bunch when I read engine replaced. What? Not numbers matching? It still won awards? The reality of non-matching Porsche 356 restorations, for example, have been strong prices that seem to ignore the fact when the work is top notch. Numbers matching will always be worth more when all else is equal. Maybe this is my way of saying I’m just not ready for a restored Volvo automatic with 18s on it. 17s maybe but 18s, ah no.
