1981 Honda Prelude 5 Speed

“This is probably one of the nicest 1981 Honda Preludes you will find.  This is a Clean Title, Original Owner, first generation, Honda Prelude in very good original, complete and unmolested condition, inside and out.  It has 180K miles on the odometer and it is in excellent running condition.  It starts right up and shifts crisply with no grinds or other issues.
This prelude has a sun roof, tachometer, recent clutch and transmission, and 2 sets of tire chains.  Everything works except the radio.  The dash, door panels, front seats and carpet have no rips, tears, spots or blemishes.  The top of the back seat has some UV damage, but all other seating surfaces are in great shape like the rest of the interior.
This silver Prelude has original paint that is in very good shape for being 30 years old and has spent most of its life in a garage.  There are only a few door dings on the body but no dents and all the paint matches.  The lower front valance is pretty chipped up.  The body panel fit is as good as it was when it left the factory and all trim, molding and beauty rings are there.  There is a spot of rust about the size of a playing card on the inside of the trunk lid (see photo).  There are some rust bubbles on the corner of the right rear back glass and above the right rear tail light.  All the glass is clear and there are no chips.  The tires are good for another 10K miles.  There is a shimmy in the front end, when braking hard, that would need some attention.
This car is ready to use as a very nice classic Honda Prelude or for getting the 27mpg as a classic commuter.  If you are looking for a very nice first generation Honda, bid on this car.  You will not be disappointed.”

Where are you going to find an original paint Honda Prelude from 32 years ago?  It may not seem like the “right” buy now unless you like living in the past man, which I do. But one day in the distant future, 171,829 first generation ’78-’82 Preludes are going to seem rare.  That’s when you pounce!

Place this bad girl bought ahead of the curve on the market and start calculating your ROI.  Careful, this could get trickyTake original purchase price, divide by years owned, add in maintenance, subtract profit, factor in inflation, carry the one.  You’ve done it!  Another Happy Meal totally paid for by your shrewd Japanese mass market car investments.
