UPDATE: The reserve wasn’t met at $1,700 on April 13, 2011.

Original Post: As I am always one for a bargain, this car seemed up my alley.  You know, those bargains that don’t run but only have 70K and look to be in good nick on eBay.  You can see my email trail with the guy after the read more link.  I think it’s safe to say, he doesn’t know what’s going on and given the Vancouver, Washington location I’m not in any to learn what he doesn’t know.

Dear amwoodtech09,
Hi, I was wondering if you could give more details on the car. How long have you owned it? When was the last time it ran? Thanks, Paul

Dear groosh33,
Hi Paul,
Well what more can i say about the car,i bought it a few months ago from California from a dealer who bought the car from a old man who own the car since he was young and working in a military, the car looks very and no rust because all her time was in California.
I did nt registrate the car because i planned to send it to Europe, because my working visa here is almost expired, but the costs to send it there and to registrate it there it s huge for an old car.
So i use to drive the car just in the neighbourhood, and i enjoyed a lot, great british car and it ran until one day when the engine stoped, and then i figure out why,was a problem all this time with the hand brake, was not off,and i did nt realize that,so from there i think the problem came.So that was maybe two months ago.
what i know also,is that the guy fom who i bought it,just change some cooler for the engine, because was in California,so that a new thing what is at the car.
One seat(the driver seat i think have to be change, but in the rest, everything looks nice inside also)

Dear amwoodtech09,
Hi, thanks for the information. I’m not sure I’m understanding completely why the engine failed. Do you believe it burned out because the brake was creating so much drag? Were you able to drive it home that day or did it fail completely and you had to tow it home on a truck. Cheers, Paul

Dear groosh33,
I wasn t able to drive it,but this was on my street,so was not a big problem,i just push it until home.Yes for sure had something to do with the hand brake, but i don t know how serious this is.
Regards,
Florin
