1962 Renault Caravelle Hard Top Convertible

UPDATE: On May 6, 2011 the reserve wasn’t met by $1,500 in bidding.

Original Post: The original straight-four engine was an 845cc motor.  But in ’62 it was upped to a 956cc and then finally an 1108cc in ’64.  That engine took the Caravelle into the end of its production from ’58-’68.  Although I’m doubting any three of the motors took the car there quickly.

This one has has enough slip ‘n slide in the chambers to keep the pistons rotating.  But more important is the rare hard top to keep your follicles from flinging.  Production numbers rate about as high as a Porsche 914 at 117,000.
Find this one on the auction site we’ve all grown to love and hate in Scottsdale, Arizona.
