1959 MGA Roadster Restoration/Rod Project No Reserve

You know me. I like no reserve auctions that start at $200 bucks.  This one is quite the project but the chassis looks clean and suspension and brake work has been done.  The engine is a 2.5 liter Jeep Comanche inline four which he says produces 120hp.  The guy got rid of the original motor.   No title.  Would be kinda fun to see this thing together with a little extra power under the bonnet.

On eBay in Beebe, Arkansas.

“For your consideration today is this under-construction MGA. I bought this car about 5 years ago, but now we are moving and sadly, this car isn’t. Lots of parts from Moss Motors; I put in new brake shoes all around, replaced the 6 brake cylinders with new reproductions, modified the dash for Dolphin gauges, and made sure the front end was rebuilt with new bushings and new rubber boots for the rack and pinion. The lever shocks were good, except the right rear, which was replaced with a rebuilt one. The gas tank is original, but has a square cut at top for the sender/FI fuel pump. The frame was rusty in on one side, so I rewelded in new steel, and modified the frame for the 1996 2.5 litre Comanche (Jeep) engine. The motor had about 85k highway miles and is outfitted with a 5 speed transmission. Both worked well when removed; I drove the car myself! Intentions were to use the Fuel injection unit; about 120 horses, but FI is problematic, so plans were to fit the intake with a downdraft Weber carb. I bought the car without a title, but researched the body (which was painted light blue originally) and came up with a vin number. Car will be sold with a bill of sale only. Radiator is good and holds water (original engine was sold years ago—engine turned freely but SU carbs were toast!) I won’t part out, and shipping is not available—we are moving and it must be picked up before October 14th. I will deduct 300 for motor/trans or 200 for gauges if you don’t want them; otherwise it’s a package deal. The fenders and doors are loose; I placed them on to show the body, and the body bolts aren’t in yet. Pose any questions via “ask seller a question, via ebay”. Thanks for looking and good luck.”
