UPDATE: The BIN has been drpped $2K to $8,500.

ORIGINAL POST August, 12 2013 – “This historic military mark has been used by NATO in various contested theaters.  This particular vehicle as been creatively and professionally sliced and diced to keep all its interesting charactoristics while increasing its power and reliability.  The heavy frame and three cylinder two stroke drivetrain has been replaced by a custom tube frame and continues the use of its German heritage with all Volkswagen parts; motor, transaxle, front and rear suspension, and gas tank.  The motor is a late strong running  1600 dual port with a single weber carburetor.  The stock four speed transaxle shift smoothly.  The tires are nearly new, and the top is in excellent condition and all gauges work.  I have added steering bump stops, both outside mirrors, covers to the rear cargo bins, new wood slat flooring, added a tach, replaced the speedometer, and had dog tags made for the key fob.  It’s wonderful and done.  Here’s a tip for shipping. The top material is very heavy and could be shipped by the less expensive “Open container” method.  Please bid with confidence.  When you receive it, it will start right up, run stong, brake perfectly straight and provide you with no negative surprises.”
