1938 UL Harley-Davidson Flathead Project

UPDATE: Sold on December 30, 2010 for $3,900.

After many episodes of American Pickers, I’ve come to appreciate how valuable old motorcycle blocks can be.  Remember when Mike paid like seven grand for that block in Sticks Ville at the crossroad of My-Dog-Runs-Free and Get-Used-to-the-Trash-in-My-Front-Yard?

I’m not entirely sure if this one is worth the money but judging from the questions and interest, he seems to have something special.

Find it here on eBay for Buy it Now lowered to $3,900 from $4,200.

“This is a very nice start to a 1938 flathead, I have most of the parts to build it into an 80 inch motor which was what I planned. The cases are very, very nice as well as the rest of the parts I list below. This engine came from an old guy who took care of his stuff, it is not all busted up. The cases are correctly numbered and have matching belly numbers. It looks like some one went throught the cases and installed all new races and bushings. This comes with a cherry 38 cam cover as well as a later 40’s cam cover. 90% of the engine is here along with extras. NO HEADS”
